ABOUT ME:
I'm a graphic designer for a kite company and studio artist on the side who somehow got permanently addicted to Weiβ Kreuz.
I write Weiβ Kreuz fanfiction, and frequently rp and cosplay Yohji.
If you're really interested in getting to know me better than that I can be found on livejournal.com under the screen names skyrat13 and yotan. I’m pretty laid back and rather inclined towards chattiness. Especially if given an excuse to talk about Weiβ, heh. Though rumor has it that I have an actual real life too...
ABOUT MY COLLECTION AND GALLERY:
I began collecting cels entirely by accident. I was an Exchange student in Japan for the spring semester of 2003 at Kansai Gaidai University. While I was there I spent an awful lot of time loitering at the Umeda branch of the Mandarake; while hunting for doujinshi I’d notice the cel bins they had in the middle of their second floor and occasionally rummage through them out of curiosity… I ended up buying a handful just because ‘I thought they were neat’ and the prices were extremely low. They led me to searching online for cels more relevant to my specific interests. Once I managed to pick up a few Weiβ cels I was hopelessly hooked (and realized too late the hobby wasn’t nearly as affordable as my initial impression. D’oh.) For a while I was collecting things from all of the anime I was interested in, but I eventually curbed my focus back down to my primary interest, mainly because I just can’t afford to buy a lot of pieces so I had to prioritize my spending. So 99% of any future updates here will probably be Weiβ Kreuz only.
What you see is pretty much what I’ve got. I don’t alter any of the scans unless the scanner itself has accidently altered the image, in which case I only clean the scan up to reflect the true state of the cel. Occasionally I will increase the saturation/contrast of sketch thumbnails, but only so that the image actually is visible when shrunken down. The full size views are always unaltered. Anything shown with a background was scanned with the background; although many of them are non-matching.
Many of the things I added early in the life of my gallery need to be rescanned. I didn’t have access to a very good quality scanner back then; neither did I have access to Photoshop. (And I’ll admit that I was fairly scanner incompetent anyway, heh.) It will probably take me a long time to thoroughly revise every listing though.
I’ve started adding screen caps to many of the cel and sketch entries. All that I have to work with currently is the default media player on my laptop…which is proving fairly difficult to accurately freeze at specific frames. So some of the screen caps I’m showing do not precisely match up to my cels, although usually they are within one or two frames. I’m showing them anyway because they at least represent the original background/any missing layers from the scene, etc.
